Basic Itinerary

Day 1 & 2: On arrival in Port Elizabeth and after collection of your rental vehicle, depart for your  beachfront guest house in Port Elizabeth, for a two night stay.   Whilst there are a number of activities to enjoy in and around the beachfront area, ranging from golf, swimming, sightseeing, shopping at the many stalls etc, a guided day tour of the city, together with a visit to two of the local game parks situated on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, is included.

Day 3 & 4: After a stay in the "Friendly City", depart for Koffylaagte Game Lodge & Tented Camp, a private country retreat offering a game viewing experience, which is roughly a 2 hour drive from the city. With a choice of farm-inspired family or luxury couples accommodation, you will be treated to two days of delicious Karoo cuisine, a host of outdoor activities ranging from quad bike, walking or horseback trails and game drives, or simply relaxing and taking in the wonderful Karoo scenery. A guided day tour to the Addo Elephant National Park is not to be missed!

Day 5 & 6:  Leave a leisurely breakfst, depart the Game Lodge for the quaint Garden Route town of Knysna, which will serve as your base for  2 nights.  During your time in Knysna, a visit to the Monkeyland and Birds of Eden sanctuary situated on the outskirts of Plettenberg Bay is included.  In Knysna itself, a  leisurely cruise to the majestic Knysna Heads and a stroll through this beautiful seaside town are highly recommended.

Day 7: After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Mossel Bay, which is a 2 hour drive from Knysna. En route to Mossel Bay, you may wish to stop off in Wilderness and George, before arriving in Mossel Bay.  In Mossel Bay, you may wish to visit the Maritime Museum, see the oldest "post office" in the country, dive with sharks, or enjoy whale watching (especially in season during May to September).  

Day 8 & 9: After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Cape Town, stopping along the way to visit the charming towns of Swellendam, Worcester, taking in the picturesque Du Toits Kloof and Paarl, before reaching Cape Town..   During your 3 day stay in the Mother City, enjoy a guided tour of the majestic Table Mountain,  following the Cape Peninsula, to the Cape Point Nature Reserve.   Should time allow, a visit to the V&A Waterfront, one of Cape Town's premier tourist destinations, is highly recommended.

Day 10: After a leisurely breakfast, you may check out of your hotel and depart for the airport in line with your departure details.  Terms and Conditions:

  The cost of the programme includes all day tour fees, entries and permits

  All city stays are on a bed and breakfast basis; all stays at the game lodge are on a full board basis

  All accommodation is at a choice of 4 and 5 star boutique establishments that are members of Cape Country Routes
